About the Haiti Children Project - Founder Wade McGuinn

The Founders Of HCP

Mr. S. Wade McGuinn, founder, is an active member of the community, both locally and internationally. Mr. McGuinn has led many overseas mission trips to Haiti, Mexico, Honduras, Cuba, and Vietnam serving as a construction team leader for United Methodist Volunteers in Missions. On one trip to Haiti in 2004, Wade was led to a children's home that housed 8 abandoned children that were cared for by others who could barely afford to take care of themselves. When Wade returned to the US, he and his wife Janet were compelled to take care of these children, thus, a Haitian Childrens Home was formed and comprised of 29 children and seven staff members.

Haiti Children Project is Founded

The Haiti Children's Project was then founded with the sole purpose to provide food, shelter, clothing, healthcare and education through sponsorship, donations, and love. The group takes many trips to Haiti throughout the year to give their time and affection to these children. Wade and his family reside in Lexington, South Carolina where he owns and operates a Construction Management Group, McGuinn Group, including McGuinn Homes, a leader in Patio and Townhome sales and construction.
